The Alliance for the Protection of the Northumberland Hills (the 'Alliance") was created and driven by volunteers due to the need to protect the Northumberland Hills from development that has the potential to harm the natural environment and the health of the residents of the Northumberland Hills.
The purposes of the Alliance include the protection of the wildlife, water and the natural environment of the Northumberland Hills, educating and informing the community of the steps that can be taken to protect the Northumberland Hills through meetings and seminars, and to conducting research on protecting the unique environment of the Northumberland Hills and the health of its residents.
One of the issues that the Alliance is currently concerned about is the development of Industrial Wind Turbines in the Northumberland Hills. The Alliance believes that this development will harm the natural environment and adversely impact human health.
